11.3.2.1 The table below shows schemes that have received programme entry but are awaiting final approval.

Glossop Spur 1.2km extension to Mottram-Tintwistle bypass which extends to A57 Woolley Bridge. £11.1m Linked intrinsically with Mottram to Tintwistle bypass. Provide a more complete solution to the environmental problems caused in Longdendale.
Ashton Northern Bypass Stage 2 A new 450 metre road on the Northern side of Ashton town centre, completing the bypass. £11.9m Agreement reached with trustees of affected Mosque.

CPO orders confirmed August 2008.

Carry local traffic through Ashton, allowing Wellington Rd and Penny Meadow to be  rearranged to benefit buses and pedestrians.
Leigh-Salford-Manchester QBC Construction of a guided 8km busway between Leigh and Ellenbrook on disused rail track and bus lanes between Ellenbrook and

Manchester City Centre.

£64.9m This scheme is being worked up as part of the TIF bid. Reducing journey times and improving reliability on this corridor.
